Golf
Westwood Country Club golf facilities include a newly-renovated 6,910 yard 18-hole, par 71 golf course, large driving range with grass tees, a short game area and spacious putting green all within a few steps of the first tee.
The original golf course, designed by noted architect Alfred Tull, opened in 1954. The course closed in the summer of 2011 and after undergoing a complete renovation by architect Gene Bates reopened in the spring of 2013.
The new golf course features T-1 bentgrass tees, greens and fairways and has five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. Westwood has hosted numerous Virginia State Golf Association and Washington Metropolitan Golf Association tournaments. In 2009, Westwood was the site of a regional qualifier for the U.S. Amateur.
