Golf

Westwood Country Club golf facilities include a newly-renovated 6,910 yard 18-hole, par 71 golf course, large driving range with grass tees, a short game area and spacious putting green all within a few steps of the first tee.

The original golf course, designed by noted architect Alfred Tull, opened in 1954. The course closed in the summer of 2011 and after undergoing a complete renovation by architect Gene Bates reopened in the spring of 2013.

The new golf course features T-1 bentgrass tees, greens and fairways and has five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. Westwood has hosted numerous Virginia State Golf Association and Washington Metropolitan Golf Association tournaments. In 2009, Westwood was the site of a regional qualifier for the U.S. Amateur.

If you'd like to schedule a tour of the golf course and other Westwood facilities, please contact our Membership Director, Britt Bowers, at [email protected].

Hole Description

A tee shot positioned down the right side will give you the best angle to the green. A mound in the middle of the green demands that your approach shot finds the same section of the green as the flagstick.

Golf Outings

Golf outings are generally held on Mondays and we recommend at least 100 players for a great day of golf. Westwood's catering department is fully capable of providing a variety of food and beverage services and will work with you to customize the offering to your desires. Before or after your outing, Westwood can hosts large gatherings in our Grande Ballroom for any indoor component to your event.
