Services
- Golf lessons – See The Golf Instruction Brochure
- Reciprocal play program with other participating country clubs in the area, once Westwood's golf course renovation begins
- Handicap – the Westwood Golf Pro Staff administers the USGA Handicap System for members, their spouses and dependents for an annual fee
- Club Storage – golf clubs can be stored at Westwood for an annual fee

Weekends – Call (703) 938-5298 on the preceding Tuesday, at 7:00pm for times before Noon
and 7:30pm for times after Noon during the scheduled golf season

Westwood Golf Pros and Staff
Glenn Brown, PGA - Head Golf Professional
Glenn Brown has been Westwood's head golf professional since 1978. A native of Alexandria, Brown is an accomplished player in his own right and has won numerous Middle Atlantic PGA events, including the MAPGA Head Professional Senior Division title in 2008. In 1998, he received the Bill Strasbaugh Award given to the PGA member who has made significant contributions toward the mentoring of PGA professionals, specifically in the area of employment and club relations, and through involvement in community and charitable activities. Brown also won the award in 1996 and 1994. He was named MAPGA Professional of the Year in 2000.
Mike Fischer, PGA - Assistant Golf Professional
Mike joined the Westwood golf staff in 1984. He grew up in Alexandria, Va. and attended York College of Pennsylvania where he played on the varsity golf team for four years and was the team's player-coach and number one player his sophomore through senior year. Before joining the staff at Westwood, Mike worked as an assistant at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club. Mike is an accomplished player who won the 2008 Holden Cup senior division and qualified for the 2008 National PGA Senior Professional Championship. Mike is the recipient of the 2009 MAPGA Assistant Professional of the Year. Mike is also an excellent instructor and often uses video and computer analysis to help his students.
Marty O'Rear, PGA - Assistant Golf Professional
Marty joined the Westwood golf staff in 2007, but previously worked at the Club more than 20 years ago until leaving to become head golf professional at Fauquier Springs in Warrenton. Marty won the 2007 MAPGA President's Plaque which is awarded to a PGA professional for exemplary contributions and achievements in the area of Player Development and for extraordinary efforts in conducting and/or supporting Play Golf America initiatives. Marty, a native of Alabama, attended the University of Alabama on a golf scholarship before moving to Northern Virginia. He also worked at Belle Haven, Congressional, Cedar Crest, Falls Road and Hilltop. Marty, who competes in MAPGA events, enjoys helping people with their golf games. He has been nominated for the MAPGA Teacher of the Year Award three times.
Billy Hoffman, PGA - Assistant Golf Professional
Billy joined the Westwood golf staff in 2008. In addition to teaching, Billy helps run the Westwood junior golf program. He previously was employed at Congressional Country Club, Columbia Country, Four Streams and Chevy Chase Country Club. Billy earned his B.A. degree in business administration with a concentration in golf management from Methodist College in North Carolina. Billy, who grew up in Chevy Chase, qualified for two national championships, the 2008 PGA National Assistants Championship and the 2009 PGA Professional National Championship.
Grisha Berls, PGA - Assistant Golf Professional
Grisha, who joined the Westwood golf staff in 2003, leads the junior golf program and coordinates the interclub team. Prior to coming to Westwood, Grisha worked at Army-Navy Country Club in Fairfax. A native of Annandale, Grisha lived in Moscow for five years. He attended Old Dominion University on a tennis scholarship but turned his attention to golf. Grisha joined the PGA 10 years ago.
Bill Wallace, PGA - Assistant Golf Professional
Bill joined the Westwood golf staff in 1997 after working at a number of Northern Virginia and Maryland clubs including Evergreen C.C. and Springfield C.C. where he was the head professional. Bill also was the head pro at the Germantown C.C. in Maryland. He served as a professional and greens superintendent at the Patuxent Naval Air Station golf course and was superintendent at Cedar Crest Country Club as well as the teaching director at Army Navy C.C. in Arlington. Bill grew up in Falls Church and served four years in the U.S. Navy. He became a professional in 1961 and started his career at Bill Wood's driving range. Bill is active in MAPGA and competes in senior tournaments, winning four MAPGA Senior Association titles.
