Westwood Fitness Center

Facility
The Westwood Fitness Center (2,700 square feet) located in the main Clubhouse offers a variety of cardiovascular equipment, including treadmills, stationary bikes and ellipticals as well as state-of-the-art weight machines and a spacious studio.

Services

  • Certified Personal Trainers are available for individualized training and instruction
  • Variety of classes offered, ranging from strength and cardio, yoga and pilates to training programs for golf and tennis
  • Certified Massage Therapist is available by appointment, offering massage and acupuncture treatments

Fitness Center Hours
Monday – Thursday: 6am to 8pm
Friday: 6am to 7pm
Saturday: 7am to 6 pm
Sunday: 8am to 4pm

Rules

1. Each member must sign in at the desk upon entering the Fitness Center.

2. Unattended guests and children under 16 years of age are NOT permitted in the Fitness Center. Guest fees apply.

3. Each member must sign a liability release form before using the Center. Any member deemed by our staff to be at high risk for injury or cardiovascular disease will be required to have a physician's written permission before using the Fitness Center.

4. Shirts and athletic shoes are required. Swimwear or golf spikes are strictly prohibited.

5. Please ask if you need assistance; improper use of the equipment will not be permitted.

6. Aerobic equipment (treadmills, ellipticals, cycles) may be used for up to 30 minutes during peak hours. Please sign the equipment waiting list to reserve the next available machine.

7. Please wipe off the equipment after you use it.

Westwood Fitness Center – Staffing Provided by Front Nine

Fitness Director
Jeff Faberman of Front Nine, directs the fitness program and center at Westwood. Jeff, who comes to Westwood after working as Assistant Fitness Director at Bethesda Country Club, has worked in the fitness industry since graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 2000. He graduated with a double major in Communications and Political Science but decided that his future was in Nutrition and Fitness. Jeff has an extensive background in amateur wrestling and mixed martial arts. He has also worked one-on-one with numerous professional athletes in various sports and martial arts. He has personal training certifications from the National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association (NESTA) as well as the National Academy of Sports Medicine, along with a nutritionist certification from NESTA.


Personal Trainer
Seth Benoit is a Certified Personal Trainer who joined the Westwood Staff after working previously at Bethesda Country Club and Woodmont Country Club. Seth grew up in the Washington metropolitan area where he was active in high school, playing soccer and basketball as well as wrestling. Seth learned about exercise and nutrition through his sports experience. He has worked as a fitness professional since 2004 and continues to stay active in his pursuit of fitness knowledge. He specializes in strength training and weight loss. Seth is experienced in training teenagers and is available for teen certification training.

Personal Trainer/Group Instructor
Paige Deeley graduated from Bentley College in 1992 with a BS in Finance. After her first child was born in 1998, Paige decided to leave the finance world and become a group fitness instructor. Paige has been a group exercise instructor for over 10 years. Her certifications include AFAA primary group exercise, Powerhouse Pilates, YogaFit Levels 1 and 2, Group Cycling, and NASM Certified Personal Trainer. As the mother of two young boys, Paige believes that it is important to be fit in order to keep up with daily life, feel and look younger, and remain pain and injury free. "Being fit will allow you to enjoy life to its fullest even as you grow older."

Personal Trainer
Crystal Norman joins the Westwood Fitness Center staff as not only a fitness professional, but as a sponsored athlete in the sport of rock climbing. She has been ranked in the top ten female athletes in the United States and has traveled the world to pursue her passion. She currently coaches several of the top junior climbing athletes in the world. Crystal has also spent several years in the United States Coast Guard, pushing her own physical limits as well as training military members from every service.


Certified Massage Therapist and Licensed Acupuncturist
Carrie Parker graduated from the Suncoast School of Massage in Tampa, FL in 1994, and the Florida Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1997, where she studied clinical Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. She holds certifications in Massage and Hydrotherapy, Acupressure, Shiatsu and Prenatal Massage and specializes in pain management through the combination of massage therapy and acupuncture. She is certified by the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
